"Tucking bushes" . consist of a kind of dwarf juniper or other fir-tree, with very thick short stumps and strong flat inter-lacing branches . . . Where it is not possible to avoid them by going round, I think 200 yards of "tucking bushes" in an hour would be quick work, and certainly much severer toil than six miles of plain ground.
